Rich Gedman, Baseball
Rich Gedman played major league baseball for 13yrs, 10 of which were with the Boston Red Sox as a catcher. He is currently the Hitting Coach for the Red Sox affiliated Lowell Spinners. Rich also served 6 successful years as the Manager of the Worcester Tornados including leading the team to the 2005 Can-Am League Championship during the team’s first year of existence. He was named the 2005 Can-Am Manager of the Year.
As a player his best seasons were with the Red Sox from ’84-’86 when he totaled 58 home runs, 117 RBIs and averaged a .275 batting average. He was an American League All-Star in 1985 and 1986 and played in two American League Championship series and the 1986 World Series. Gedman was a career .292 hitter in the postseason with 3 home runs and 8 RBIs in 18 games.
Rich, a native of Worcester, has remained connect to baseball since his retirement from the majors and now passes on his love of the game, skills and guidance to developing players.
Chris Colabello, Baseball - Toronto Blue Jays
Chis is a former player for the Minnesota Twins. He was Double A ball as an infielder for the New Britian Rock Cats the minor league team for the Minnesota Twins until May of 2013 when he was called up to join the Twins. Chis is enjoying a very successful season 2012 and is was leading the Rock Cats in home runs and is the overwhelming fan voted favorite for First Half Rock Cats MVP before he was called up to the Twins.
Prior to joining the Rock Cats Chris was an infielder for the Worcester Tornadoes. In 2005 he joined the league and helped the Tornadoes to the 2005 Can-Am League Championship. Chris excels at hitting and holds a number of Can-Am League records including being the all-time hits leader and also holds the record for doubles.
Chris makes Milford his home and is widely recognized and admired throughout Central Massachusetts for his achievements!

Matt, a native of Framingham, MA, currently plays 3rd base for the Class A Salem Red Sox of Salem Virginia. His stats for the 2013 season include 7 home runs and 31 RBI's.
Matt was selected by the Boston Red Sox in the 45th round of the 2011 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Massachusetts. He ranked second in the Gulf Coast League in batting and tied for third in walks in 2011.In college he led the Atlantic-10 Conference with a .402 average (76-for-189) in 2011. He was also was named a first team All-Star selection by the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association, first team All-Atlantic-10 and NCBWA District I Player of the Year. He totaled 189 career hits to rank second all-time in UMass history.
Seth Kaplan is in his third season as head coach of the Dean College Bulldogs. The Bulldogs have compiled a 36-28 (.562 winning percentage) over the past two seasons. He has built a strong team work ethic and a focus on academics as the foundation of the Bulldog Baseball Team. This has helped raise the level of achievement the team has on the field and in the classroom. The team has had several all region players and many successful alumni players in all levels of the NCAA and Professional Baseball. Overall Coach Kaplan has coached fifteen players that have gone on to sign professional contracts. At Dean College he also teaches courses in foundations of study habits and history of sports. Coach Kaplan came to Dean College from Fairfield, CT, where he was the Associate Program Director for The Team Connecticut Blue Jays AAU Organization. Coach also served as the general manager for The Batting Cage baseball facility in Black Rock, CT. While at the Batting Cage he coordinated the fielding for the youth level of The Blue Jays and served as the catching and hitting instructor for the facility. Prior to his work with the Blue Jays, Coach Kaplan spent 8 seasons at Sacred Heart University as a baseball assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. His main coaching focal point was working with the team hitters and defensively with the infielders and catchers. While at Sacred Heart, Kaplan served as an Assistant Athletic Director for Events and Operations for four years. He also headed up the Maintenance division, running the day-to-day service needs of the William H Pitt Center, and managing several projects. Before his time at Sacred Heart he served as an assistant coach with the Rhode Island Gulls in the New England Collegiate Baseball League. He was the first base coach and hitting instructor. Kaplan graduated from the University of Massachusetts where he was the starting shortstop for two seasons and captained the Minutemen his senior year. In addition to being the everyday shortstop, Kaplan doubled as UMass' back-up catcher. His versatility enabled him to play six positions during his college career and has given him a broad knowledge of every position on the field. Coach Kaplan lives in Medway with his wife Dawn, their daughter Haly, and their son Ryan.
Greg Dowdell, Golf Pro
Gred Dowdell is the Director of Golf and P.G.A. Professional at Maplegate Country Club. Greg grew up in Medway, graudating high school in 1983 after a very successful four year varsity golfing career at Medway High. Greg matriculated at Umass Amherst, earning a degree in Engineering.
Greg returned to Maplegate after college and began pursuing his Class A status as a P.G.A. Professional. He moved to Florida to further his education and experience, working at Boca Lago Country Club for four years, rising to the rank of First Assistant.
Greg received his Class A status in 2000 and continued his teaching career after moving home to Medway and resuming his career with Maplegate. He has created and run numerous programs for both adults and children, including the Golf College for children which educated thousands of children since its inception in 2001. Greg has also served as the Head Coach for the Medway High Golf team for the past eight years.
Greg has worked with golfers of all abilities from beginners to experts, and is available for both group and individual lessons. Greg has also worked with many corporations such as E.M.C.; running both leagues and clinics for Business Professionals.
Lou Colabello, Softball
Lou has extensive experience in assessing players at the professional level as well as coaching at the youth level.
Lou has been a scout for the Italian Professional Softball League, Forli, for the past 16 years where he has assessed players based on their skill sets.
Lou also has a wealth of experience coaching youth sports. He is an instructor for the Milford Community Use Youth Softball Camp for 6 years as well as Director and Coach for the Douglas Youth Softball Camps for the past 5 years. Additionally he has coached at the varsity level at Douglas High School where he spent 6 years as Boys Varsity Baseball Coach and 5 years as Girls Varsity Softball Coach.
Coach Alex Dion
A three year starter at Westborough High School (1b / P). Graduated in 2007 Mid Wach B All-Start Junior and Senior year. He also played for Northborough Post 234 Legion as a four year starter from 2005-2008. After High School, Alex attended Western New England University and was a member of the 2008 CCC Championship team that went 33-13 and finished 3rd in the NCAA New England Regional’s. After college, Alex rejoined Northborough Legion Post 234 as an Assistant Coach in 2011 & 2012 and then was promoted to Head Coach in 2013. He then accepted a role with Team Mizuno Northeast where he was the assistant coach for the 17U College Showcase team in 2014 before becoming the Head Coach this past summer in 2015. Alex was also hired as the Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach of Milford High School in the spring of 2014, a position he still holds where he manages the pitchers and catchers and assists with all other facets of the team.
Shannon Smith - University of Kenntucky Wild Cats - Pitcher

Shined in the circle and in the batter's box in high school as a four-year letterwinner earning team and league MVP honors all four seasons ... Countless honors, including a three-time Gatorade Massachusetts Player of the Year (2010, 2012, 2013) and ESPN's Miss. Softball for Massachusetts in 2012 and 2013 ... Named 2013 Boston Globe All-Scholastic Player of the Year ... Ended her high school career with the Massachusetts state strikeout record (1,219) and Massachusetts career wins record (86) ... Under her leadership, Milford High School won the 2012 and 2013 Division I State Championships after finishing as a state semifinalist in 2011 and state finalist in 2010 ... Paced her high school to four consecutive district and league championships during her time ... Finished her four-year career with an 86-4 record, including 25 no-hitters and 11 perfect games ... Hit .489 her senior season at the dish with nine homers, while he posted a 0.04 ERA with 358 strikeouts ... Threw eight no-hitters, four perfect games and eight one-hitters her senior year ... Had equally good numbers her junior season with a .462 batting average and nine roundtrippers on top of a 0.08 ERA and 359 strikeouts ... Excelled as an underclassman as well, with a 0.94 ERA and 296 strikeouts as a sophomore and 0.72 ERA and 206 strikeouts as a freshman ... Was also on the swimming team in high school for one season ... Member of the High Honor Roll and National Honors Society in high school
